How does NEC 500 differ from IEC/ATEX?
NEC 500 uses a Class and Division system for North American hazardous locations; IEC/ATEX uses Zones. This course focuses specifically on the Class and Division model.
Can the assessment be taken remotely?
Yes — blended learning candidates can sit the exam remotely via the Infinity Skills CompEx center, subject to prior arrangement at infinityskillshealthcare.ae.
Is this suitable for non-technical staff?
This course requires basic electrical or Ex knowledge. For entirely non-technical personnel, the CompEx Foundation (EXF) course at Infinity Skills is more appropriate.
What does the practical assessment involve?
Candidates must demonstrate competence in cable glanding and terminations — including cable selection, glanding, crimping, and termination across various given scenarios.
Does this qualify me for hands-on Ex work?
No — this is a foundation-level qualification providing a certified baseline for progressing to advanced CompEx technical units.
